When the timeless fortune symbol of the "gourd" meets the playful soul of contemporary pop art, an immersive journey blending Eastern aesthetics with modern trends is set to make a dazzling debut at One Central Macau and MGM MACAU. From 1 May to 31 August 2026, beloved Eastern pop art IP HAHALULU arrives in Macau for the first time to present an immersive art experience. Spanning outdoor and indoor installations at One Central Macau as well as immersive digital art exhibitions at MGM Macau, the exhibition transform into an artistic journey, inviting visitors from near and far to experience the vibrant dialogue between Eastern aesthetics and contemporary trends.
Created by Dennis Chan, Internationally renowned creator, HAHALULU draws inspiration from gourd, a traditional Chinese auspicious symbol. In traditional culture, the gourd symbolizes blessings, protection, vitality, and joy, making it a beloved emblem of good fortune. Dennis breaks away from the static and rigid form of the traditional gourd, endowing it with lively eyes and vivid expressions, transforming HAHALULU into an "innocent child" awakened from a millennium of cultural heritage, conveying a core message of pure joy and healing.
